H e l l o
I am a jewellery designer maker based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
I make textural silver pieces either by hammering, stamping or imprinting using my rolling mill, each will very slightly due to the techniques used. Recently, I have been exploring using silver clay (eco silver) and texturing using my lino cut patterns. Once fired, they become fine silver. My silver jewellery is made up of simple shapes, pattern and texture. Many of my pieces combine these textural silver elements with painted and printed plywood.
My wooden pieces are unique due to the mono-print technique. I cut patterns from lino and print from those or I roll ink onto the ‘waste’ plywood after the shapes have been cut out, which makes for some interesting designs. Take a look at my videos below. Working intuitively, I overlay patterns and colours until I like what I see. I love that it’s such a very playful process. All the wooden pieces are sealed with Renaissance wax to protect them.
